At Edumo, we want our customers, business partners and others to always trust us. When you provide personal information to us, we know that it is our responsibility to protect it. In this text you can read how we process personal data.

In connection with the operation of the company, we collect and process personal data in order to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Edumo is the data controller in relation to the processing of the personal data for these purposes. This policy explains how your personal data is collected and used when you are a customer with us, and how you can gain insight into your own personal data.

Personal information

Personal data is any information about an identified or identifiable person. An identifiable person means a person who can be directly or indirectly identified.

The personal information Edumo may collect is treated confidentially in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act, the Danish Data Protection Authority's recommended guidelines and general good practice in the area.

Information collected in connection with the purchase of our services and products

In some cases, we process personal data about our customers or contact persons at our customers. This relates to contact information, information about deliveries, orders, etc. However, it may also relate to correspondence in connection with our products and services. We store this information in order to be able to sell and deliver our services and products or to be able to provide customer support in connection with the work. Information that is part of accounting material is stored for 5 years in accordance with the Accounting Act.

Information collected when you contact us

If you contact us regarding information about our products and services, we will in some cases store information. If you send us an e-mail, we will in some cases save the correspondence in order to better serve you or your company. We store such information until it is no longer relevant.

Information in connection with website use

On our website, we offer a number of services that require you to enter certain personal information in a web form (such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address).

If you choose to let us use cookies on the website, we use these to identify you and record some of your activity on the website. We do this to give you a more customized experience, such as to pre-fill fields in the previously described web forms, but also to understand marketing and sales initiatives and adapt our marketing and sales efforts.

If you come to our website through an online ad, we may send data back to the ad network, about whether we achieved a desired outcome, for instance got you to sign up or purchase something, if that was the goal of the advertisment.

Information in connection with news letters

If you choose to sign up for our newsletter, we will save your name and e-mail address. You always have the option to unsubscribe from our newsletter.

We also try to track if you open emails and click links to understand how effective our communication and marketing initiatives are in order to adjust our efforts. 

Information in connection with app use

We process and store information you provide in the app as well as your usage of the app. This includes login information and logins, and the learning material you create, store and expose through the service. It also includes your interaction with the material like what material you have seen, what you solved and the time it took

Some of the information about your use of the learning material is also shared with the people that created and made the material available for you - your teachers. 

External processors

Edumo use the following external data processors:

  • Hubspot (agreement): Tracking on website; storing infirmation given in forms on the website or through ads, and tracking of emails.
  • Meta (agreement), LinkedIn (agreement), og Google Ads (agreement): Identification of users that came to the website via the ad service and information about ad goal achievements.
  • Google Cloud (agreement) og Firebase (agreement): We use Google for the backend compute and storage functionality associated with the app. 
  • Sentry (agreement): We send diagnostic data including identification of you as the user and your device, so we can troubleshoot bugs and other issues in the app.

Rights

The Personal Data Regulation gives the data subject a number of rights. Including, for example, the right to rectification and the right to access. You can assert your rights at any time by contacting us. Among other things, you can request insight into the personal data that we hold. You can also object to the processing of the information. Furthermore, you can request the correction or deletion of any incorrect information about yourself. You can also withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data.

Complaints

If you wish to complain about our processing of personal data, we ask that you first contact us, but you also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Authority.
