Switch to Edumo if...

Your courses are not your participants primary education

Participants can have difficulties keeping track of and find time for learning and preparation - and engaging.

Your educators are freelancers rather than full-time employees

Educators may try not to spend too much time on preparation, administration and adjusting to your systems.

You have an LMS that educators and course participants do not use

Your LMS may be complex and not give benefits to educators, and participants can't use it on the devices they want.

Gather information in one app

Course participants often have plenty of things they want to use their time on, and keeping track of information about courses is not one of them.

Address everything from old paper handouts, through verbal information to emails and shared documents and gather all information in one app, which your participants always have available at their fingertips.

Utilize platform features like notifications to ensure your participants are up-to-date and as prepared and engaged as you can.

Offer social-media like communication

Your course participants are likely to want to share information and communicate with their fellow course participants and the educator.

Help your course participants more easily communicate with each other without needing to first exchange contact information or use other social media, which not every course participant wants or feel comfortable about.

Bite-size and gamify

When a course is not the participants' primary education or occupation, it is also not their first priority. It can be hard to find time for learning in a busy everyday life with many other priorities.

Serve content in bite-sizes, make small quizzes and surmountable exercises, which can be gamified and made fun. If a course participant can consume or solve 5 minutes of learning at a time, she can typically find more time for the learning - and it helps it feel motivating and engaging rather than a demanding chore.
