How Do I Share a Learning Path with My Learners?

Once you've created a learning path with materials, you can share it with learners in two ways. Either send an email invitation directly from Edumo, or generate a shareable link to send through any channel you prefer. Either way, learners receive a link, sign in or sign up, and accept the invitation to access the path. You can manage all invitations and revoke access at any time.

Step 1: Activate the Path (If Not Done Yet)

  1. Log into Edumo.
  2. In the lefthand side menu, navigate to Drafts.
  3. Select the path.
Either click the checkbox in the list so it is selected, or click on the path and enter it and then make sure no part in the path is selected (if an item is select it click on it to deselect) then you see the same path menu in the right column.
  4. Click the Change to Active button in the righthand column.

Step 2: Open the Share Path Dialog

  1. Select the path similar to in step 1.
  2. Click the Invite and Share button in the righthand column.
A dialog shall appear with options to share the path.

Step 3a: Share the Path with an Email

One option is to enter an email and then an invitation is automatically send to the email with a link to the path the learner can click and accept.

  1. Enter the email address in the text field at the top of the dialog.
  2. Select whether to share with a learner or teacher (whether to give the invitee options to change the path or not).
  3. Click the Invite button.

Note the link shared in this way can only be used once. If the learner shares the link or use it with a different account, you may need to send a new invite.

Step 3b: Share the Path with a Link

Another option is to get a link that you can send to learners yourself.

  1. Click the Create Link button at the bottom.
  2. The link should be in the clipboard now, but if not click the small Copy icon button on the row with the invitation
  3. Share the link in any way you choose.

Step 4: How Learners Accept the Path

Your learners will have to accept the learning path by using the link you shared or got send to them automatically.

  1. Click link provided in the email from Edumo or shared by the teacher

  2. If not already signed into Edumo, go through the sign in or sign up flows.

  3. Click Accept when displayed the invitation again.

If the invitation accept option does not appear after going through the sign up/in flow, then the user will need to click the invitation link again. This happens in cases where the learner clicks other links and gets back to the sign up/in without Edumo knowing anymore it was related to the invitation.

Step 5: Manage Invitations and Learners

After sharing you will see an email-specific or general invitation in the list in the middle of the dialog. When your learners accept you will also be able to see who has accepted.

You can revoke an invitation by clicking the small trash can on the row of the invitation. You can also copy the link associated invitation to your clipboard, so you can share or use it. For invites shared with emails, you can also reshare by clicking the share icon on the row.

If an invitation has been used you will see the profile that has accepted the learning path. You can delete their access to the learning path again by clicking the trash can icon on the row. Note that if they still have a general invitation they can use it again, so it may be relevant to also delete the general invitation.
